PS3 HELL! Freezing and failing to read the game disc!?

I have just purchased possibly one of the most addictive games ever, Call of Duty-Modern Warfare. Now for the first time ever it decides to say "No! You will not have fun anymore!" I completed the game on single player and then after a few misions of special opps it freezes! I reset the machine and then the ps3 fails to read the disc. I tried holding down the power on, system restore, Hoovering th dust etc and nothing happened. This is the crazy thing. Cd's and Dvds work absolutley fine!! Madness! Any Call of dutyfans out there will know what i'm going through. I have searched online for answers and tried everything but stil each time i manage to load call of duty it will freeze through the first game. HELP!!!!!!
